The Sergi Effect was invented by Sergi LEVY-SMIDTAS, a professional designer and inventor. This is the story of how The Sergi Effect
came into being, told in the inventors own words;
The Inspiration
I have been a professional designer and inventor for many years and was looking for a particular type of magic trick
that use the web. It was very difficult to use a computer because people are not astonished by anything coming from a computer now a days.
When I realized this, I decided to invent my own online trick.
The Invention Process
First I started to understand why there were no trick with a computer with the main role.
Hardware Magic is so great because it challenges physical laws that every knows, like levitation or ubicuity, but a computer you can not do that, because nothing seams to be obvious with a computer that you can challenge.
After I had understood that, my next step was to imagine a trick that was impossible to happen even with a computer. Something that was so impossible obviously.
At this point a cloudy image was forming but would not solidify in my mind. Next I wrote some pages and decided to try the effect.
When I did this it appeared to me so astonishing that I play the trick to myself again and again so beautiful it was.
I was stunned by the fact that I could not take off myself from my screen, I knew what is was what I wanted.
Testing
I was able to combine my skills as both a magician and a informatician to not only create this new online trick
but also a solution that would fool even the smartest person.
After the completion of the first version, I showed some friends.
The response I got was very impressive and I knew without a doubt that I had invented a brand new type of magic.
Even magicians and informaticians were dazzled.
Pride in Quality
Not only was my trick very attractive it was very unique in every way.
It was not a sophisticated web site but a very simple one. Anybody that know a bit about websites can read the sources of the pages.
They are very simple and clean to emphasize the effect.
A final note
I have done my very best to keep the quality of my creations high so that anyone who enjoys dreaming is touched.
I have personally shown several of people the magic site and it is so extraordinary to see their face when the magic played its role.
It looks good showing the web site anywhere, I've seen it used in the street, with an internet free box access.
But for the most part I really enjoy showing the trick using the public own computer.
I have had many people write me and tell me how much they have enjoyed the show.
